Prayer requests and prayer chain

“I have set watchmen on the walls which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that are the Lord’s remembrances, keep not silence, and give Him no rest.” Isaiah 62:6

President Edwards wrote of David Brainer: “Though he was of a very sociable temper, and loved the company of saints, and delighted very much in religious conversation, and in social worship, yet his warmest affections, and their greatest effects on his animal nature, and his sweetest joys, were in his closet devotions and solitary transactions between God and his own soul; as is very observable through his whole course, from his conversion to his death.  He delighted greatly in secret retirements, and loved to get quite away from all the world to converse with God alone in secret duties.”

God wants a larger number of such men to be His watchmen.  Are you willing to fill the office by devoting much time to prayer? More than anything else the Church needs men and women in her midst who will say of every need, “Let us take this to God in prayer.”

Church Body

  • Pray for my son to find God and turn his life around and pray that Satan would lose the grip on his life.
  • Pray for God to continue to provide the resources and blessings for us to continue to meet our financial obligations. Our current financial dilemma was caused by fraud in a business deal against us, but God has been gracious in allowing us to continue to meet our obligations. May God’s love and grace continue. Pray that our children and grandchildren will discover God’s purpose for their lives and they will seek to know their Creator and Savior.
  • I’m looking for work and have some limitations.  I’m single and need work. Pray for the Lord to provide work for me.

Prayer Requests

“And He lifted up His hands and blessed them.” Luke 24:50

One of Wellington’s officers, when commanded to go on some perilous duty, lingered a moment as if afraid, and then said, “Let me have one clasp of your all-conquering hand before I go; and then I can do it.” Seek the clasp of Christ’s hand before every bit of work, every hard task, every battle, every good deed.  Bend your head in the dewy freshness of every morning, ere you go forth to meet the day’s duties and perils, and wait for the benediction of Christ, as He lays His hands upon you.  They are hands of blessing.  Their touch will inspire you for courage and strength and all beautiful and noble living.

- J. R. Miller

Before Moses went to his life work he stood face to face with the Lord his God, at the burning bush; before Joshua entered upon his campaign in Canaan he met the captain of the Lord’s hosts near Jericho. Success will be certain, victory will be easy, if our first interview each day is with our Great Captain.  What a loss must be ours if we neglect so great a privilege.

Prayer Chain

“Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk.” Psalm 143:8

To ascertain the Lord’s will we ought to use scriptural means. Prayer, the word of God, and His Spirit should be united together.  We should to go God repeatedly in prayer, and ask Him to teach us by His Spirit through His Word.  For if we should think that His Spirit led us to do so and so, because certain facts are said to be do, because certain facts are said to be so and so, and yet His Word is opposed to the step which we are going to take, we should be deceiving ourselves….No situation, no business will be given me by God in which I have not time enough to care about my soul.  Therefore however outward circumstances may appear, it can only be considered as permitted of God, to prove the genuineness of my love, faith, and obedience, but by no means as the leading of His providence to induce me to act contrary to His will.
- George Muller

God’s voice in His Word, and His voice in the leadings of His providence never contradict each other.  If the event points one way and the Word another we may be assured God is not speaking in the event.

Church Body

  • My son is addicted to marijuana and alcohol. He recently lost his job. If he doesn’t get a job in the next week, he will be coming home. He has no money, he is in deep debt. We don’t want to enable him. We need direction on how to deal with him. He needs some direction so he can stop focusing on drugs. He lives with 4 other guys just like him. He also doesn’t believe in God…he is very lost. He is actually an amazing person with an amazing personality and loves to help people. I believe we need God’s intervention and direction. Please pray for our son and our family. He was saved and baptized as a teenager and is now 21 years old.
  • I am discouraged. I know the Lord has taken care of me even when I was not seeking after Him. I know God commands us to work and take care of our families. Please pray for my wife and me for strength and courage work. I’m in construction; God has blessed me with a wonderful talent in working with wood. The last job I was working on fell through and there’s nothing in site.
  • A mom has been in jail and the children are staying with the grandparents for right now. Pray for her to get out of jail and have wisdom and discernment in dealing with the situation. We believe the mom is a believer and she asked us to pray for the situation.

Let’s get this prayer chain started

I’ll start the prayer “ball” rolling with my own prayer request. Please send me your prayer requests, so that the body of Christ ( the church ), that views this blog can pray for each other.
Like a lot of people now days, I need a job as soon as possible. At the same time, I am thankful to God that we still have a roof over our head, enough food, good water to drink, and our health.
