About
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 New King James Version
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Prayer is talking with God (and we can come to God because of Jesus Christ), and “pray without ceasing” is talking with God as much as you can…don’t exclude Him from any part of your life.
Prayer does not have to be like the photo on the home page…it is the posture of your heart that is important, not the posture of your body.
Prayer is not just for church…
Matthew 6:6 New King James Version
6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
The best known example of the outline for prayer is…
Luke 11:2-30 (New King James Version)
2 So He ( Jesus) said to them, “When you pray, say:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins,
For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.”
( Remember, this is an outline of prayer for us…not a prayer to be quoted over and over like a robot)
Psalm 23 (New King James Version)
Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell[a] in the house of the LORD
Forever.
For this prayer blog to be efficient, it is very important that you use “search” and “archive” on the home page. ( there can only be a few prayer requests visible at one time, and many will be ignored unless you do a search and look through the archives )…
Another very important request is that you also reply with “praise reports” when God answers your prayers…this will be a real faith booster for everyone who reads them.
There is no doubt that God answers our prayers, but while we are waiting He also will allow us to go through (possibly) some very tough times for our benefit in the long run. Quickly answering prayer is not always the best thing for us…even though we don’t always agree at the time.
